Wow! What a packed day! Had breakfast at IHOP but just an omelette nothing crazy and then off to Fisherman’s Wharf. Well I was a little early - they must start things late as it was after 9:00 when I was there and nothing was open. Walked around and checked things out while I was there and waited for the Big Bus Tour (Double Decker Bus) to be open so I could buy a ticket to do the tour.
I highly recommend the Big Bus Tour was very informative and toured most spots in the area. The downfall to the tour I would say is that it doesn’t go close to the areas that I wanted to see like the Painted Ladies or the crookedest road on Lombard Street. I would have had to hop off and tour on my own and then hop back on when ready. I didn’t know the schedule and frankly I was comfortable just sitting and touring on the top deck.
Highlight for sure was the ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was absolutely freezing but well worth the top deck sight. Tomorrow we will ride to the spots we want when I pick up the bike and take pictures. And we will ride the bikes over the bridge too!
After Connie had a quick shower and we got caught up on life we headed out back to the Fisherman’s Wharf. Well this time everything was open and there were a lot more people around and entertainment was everywhere. We shopped at a few stores and was able to buy the kids their Hard Rock t-shirts and got myself myself a souvenir.
We decided we would have drinks down at the wharf but it soon turned out to be supper too! Oh my goodness we both had the clam chowder and I added the crab to mine! Wow - very good. One cup was so filling.
It is 7:30 pm and we are both ready for bed already! Both tired and ready to get going on the bikes tomorrow! I can’t wait to ride!
