Cobden to Montreal to San Francisco!

Today is the day!  Finally travelling after a long hiatus!

Dad arrived in time to depart our house at noon today.  I drove with dad in the front and Paul in the back. LOL. After we got to Montreal Paul quickly said there was no way he would be able to come pick me up - he was a little flustered to say the least and he wasn’t even driving!  Was a smooth drive down and dad was going to drive home - thankfully.

Going through the airport it was interesting as it was really not that busy at all.  I can tell you I am already to rip my mask off as it is so hot!  I have no idea how people work with one on all day - thankfully I don’t and I am struggling - need a fan underneath the mask - LOL.

Airplane was pretty empty which was nice for sure as it didn’t seem rushed or crazy and we actually left early.  Watched a couple of movies and listened to some music - very quiet flight as people were spread apart there was very little talking amongst passengers.  I took my sunset pictures over the clouds.

So cool to take the pictures of the sunset above the clouds - certainly a different perspective than what I am used to for sure.

Beautiful view of San Francisco as we are getting ready to land.

As I departed the airplane I just followed the crowd forgetting that I was sitting at the front of the plane pretty much.  I did recognize the guy that sat across the aisle from me and I finally asked him if this is where the baggage claim was as I really wasn’t paying any attention to the signs.  But yes it was - but no he had no baggage to claim - LOL.  I started paying attention and found my way there with no hitches and was the first to arrive.  Both bags were picked up quickly and then headed to the taxi stand.

I had a lady taxi driver who has been driving taxi for 21 years!  Very good driver and was quick to get to the hotel.  Saw some homeless people but she mentioned that downtown San Francisco there is quite a bit more homeless people - very sad.  Went past the San Francisco Giants stadium but by the time I figured it out I was passed and didn’t have my camera ready to take pictures.  Took a picture of the Bay Bridge and arrived safely at the hotel.  Staying at the RIU Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel and it is nice.

Now to try to sleep and get up and tour the city as much as I can - no idea where to go but I will figure it out tomorrow.  Looking forward to seeing the sights and being well rested.
